2009 Disaster Olympix: Prepare. Train. Communicate.
The 2009 Disaster Olympix: Prepare. Train. Communicate held on May 6, 2009, culminated with the announcement of “PICU Power” as the overall winners of the disaster event. Teams are not briefed in advance regarding the events, with the exception of the team captain who receives a training on decontamination. All events are judged on their ability to complete the task, work as a team, and communicate effectively.
This year’s event debuted SurgeWorld, a serious online simulation triage game. The scenario was a modified version of the game with 2 minute intervals of triage based on JumpSTART© Lou Romig.
